he’s grinning in the second one, oooh! Love the hair and the beard and ooooh those arms and legs ooooh.

I had no idea James was part of Soccer Aid, it’s so a must watch now. Though buggering hell he’s part of the ‘rest of the world’ team and not ‘England’ I’m going to be so torn on who to cheer for ;_; (It should have been Britain v Rest of the world instead ;P)

What’s the worst thing you can call a woman? Don’t hold back, now. You’re probably thinking of words like slut, whore, bitch, cunt (I told you not to hold back!), skank. Okay, now, what are the worst things you can call a guy? Fag, girl, bitch, pussy. I’ve even heard the term ‘mangina.’ Notice anything? The worst thing you can call a girl is a girl. The worst thing you can call a guy is a girl. Being a woman is the ultimate insult. Now tell me that’s not royally fucked up.

Pep’s Farewells: Lovelier the second time around…

When Pep Guardiola left FC Barcelona in 2001 for the first time in 18 years, there were no tributes during his final match. He was not in good relations with Josep Nuñez, the president of the club at that time. His teammates however, did not forget his contribution to the game. Luis Enrique and Sergi Barjuan lifted Pep onto their shoulders, and he waved goodbye to the fans.  A few hours after the game, when the lights dimmed and Camp Nou was empty, he returned to the midfield wearing his casual clothes, with his parents and his partner, Cristina to have a final look at his ‘home’.

Fast forward to 2012… The club has prepared massive tributes to Guardiola since he announced his resignation as manager. During the game against Espanyol, 89,000+ fans have flocked Camp Nou, waved their tribute banners, chanted endless cheers and wrote messages of thanks and goodluck as they witness his last game as a manager. The team also gave Guardiola their traditional lifting of Pep into the air, and lined up into two groups as Pep walked towards the locker rooms.

But as compared to 2001, after his press conference and when Camp Nou was already emptied, he, accompanied by his wife Cristina and their children; followed shortly by his parents, uncle, siblings, agent, walked again in the pitch. This time with stadium lights lit up and happily reminiscing his memorable moments as manager.

He left in 2001 because he wasn’t happy anymore. It pained him to leave but he did not have any choice. Now, he left because he was tired and somewhat broken. He wasn’t happy either but he felt liberated from all the demands and the pressures of the game. So before he loses his sanity and Barca soul, he willfully stepped down and will move on.

It was expected that Camp Nou will be flooded with tears and sadness. But it was the complete opposite of his previous farewell as a player. Last night was also a jovial celebration of what Barca football is all about: beauty, philosophy and camaraderie. We saw how Messi broke all the records in just one night. We saw the team celebrated as he scored. We saw some of our B and benched players perform. We saw once again the dominance of our passing game.

But what we clearly saw last night was all about Pep. What happened were all of his doing. He nurtured Messi in becoming who he is right now. He assembled the players’ different skills and talents into a one cohesive force. He gave opportunity to the players who came from the canterano ranks, same with players who have been transformed since their stay at the team. He characterized our philosophy by only imposing one style of play, whether we win or lose.

Indeed, it was a wonderful testimonial to Pep’s greatness. And it was signed, sealed and delivered by no other than his prodigy Lionel Messi, who gave him a warm hug after scoring his 4th goal in the game and 50th goal in the Liga. So why be sad? Those years should have been long gone. Our team has full of promise for the next season so it’s best to look forward from now on. We have a great team (whose only need is a long rest), a new manager whom they believe his ‘twin brother’ and fans, especially the Catalans, that through thick and thin, in war and in peacetime, will only support this team.

Pep left but his spirit will live on. But didn’t he say, ‘I’ll be around’ and ‘See you soon’
